In Kaslo itself there are a few sites - mostly visited in summer months - like
  • The SS Moyie, a historical site in itself plus a museum of bygone days
  • The Moyie is beached at the west end of Kaslo beach, a sheltered part of Kaslo Bay with a sandy beach, some greens and shaded benches up above on street level
  • Kootenay Lake is accessible from spots at the head of Kaslo Bay (from 5th Ave), from Kaslo Beach and from Vimy Park in the delta

Heading south on Hwy 31 toward Ainsworth and Balfour there is Woodbury Resort & Marina. On some bundled pilons south of the access to said resort there are often ospreys nesting

Heading up the Kaslo River valley Highway 31A often runs where earlier on there was train track. Toward the summit the former track can be followed at various places, also at Bear Lake and Fish Lake (blue circle). Kaslo with sm red square, Kootenay Lake with South Arm (Creston), North Arm (Lardeau) and West Arm (Nelson) framed red.
